Few weeks ago, on a lazy sunday afternoon I went to have a 'diploma walk'. I went to carefully investigate Parque Simon Bolivar where my diploma plot is, and all its surroundings. To my surprise I discovered quite some new buildings around, and loads of people of all ages just hanging around.. one more time I convinced myself it actually is a good spot for my project.

Also some ornaments - i continue my hunt for them, but not many nice, original examples have survived.

The concept for my masters' project, the simpliest concept I have ever made.. but its just a start what's gonna be left from this in the end??

My stay here in Colombia is coming to an end.. 2 more weeks and.. Ciao, Colombia!! Hola, Mexico!!

I miss my country now, I will miss the messy Colombia, when I'll get home. I'm happy to be coming back and I'm sad to leave. I guess a lot will understand me well. Colombia was an incredible experience, it was pretty schocking to see the social differences that exist here between the poor and the rich ones, something europeans never get to see in their own countries. The hospitality and constant smiles on all peoples' faces here worked as an everyday dose of optimism and cheerfulness. Since almost no people here spoke english I have finally been made to achieve a decent level in my spanish, allowing everyday communication. I have not seen even 5 % of what's Colombia like, but from all the travels I have brought only good memories. The traffic here
is ridiculous, the cities and architecture a bit messy but still evolving like the economics, the people amazing and the nature and views unforgettable.

Last trip to Medellin, in Europe known only for being the Escobars' city.. but there's so much more to it.. The second biggest metropolis in the country, the city of 'Colombia Moda', the Metrocable, the flower festival and the orchids, the food and the parties!

Finca.. Gracias, Pablo! Was great..

Usaquen.. it used to be a small village with a square, church etc. till it got absorbed by growing Bogota. This is just the cementery.. even though the overall feel of Usaquen is good when you go there, somehow on the pictures I was unable to catch the 'right atmosphere' so I skipped those.. another time : /

oh yea.. Henry Miller

*Fernando Boteros'..

A one day visit to the Museo de Banco de La Republica.. long visit :) but worth it. Andy Warhol temporary exhibition, colombian painting exhibition, colombian contemporary art exhibition, Fernando Botero exhibition.. all in one (and also the museum of Banco de La Republica - but I skipped this one :P). Fernando Botero - you have to get to know his art if you are in Colombia, it's a compulsory point for all tourists.. seems it's the most well know artist of Colombia, but they have a lot, a lot more..

Yep, so this is what I do here :D

Well not exactly, actually, it was just one day. One day in the Teatro Colon, an old theatre here in Bogota - in renovation. I had the unique chance to see it from the inside, and have some fun segregating old theatre plays wardrobe. A lot of dirty, dirty work, believe me, but fun as well..

Was great, went there on horses, but since i was holding on tight not to fall I did not take any photos of this memorable moment myself.. but I'll get some supply of those soon :)

Mountains surrounding Villa de Leyva.
Iguaque National Park, too bad I didn't feel too well that day. But still was worth it.
Very western-like visitors centre..

..and I do mean the 'westerns' :)

The colonial town of Villa deLeyva.

Yep, was nice, actually great, the whole town still looking like ages ago, so rare in here.. so little places like this left, I guess, well at least in the big cities..

It is a small town, 1 day is enough to get to know it, but it's got a lot of great nature spots around it as well. It has a positive atmosphere, many people came here and never left .. :P at least that's what they told me. However those stones in all streets.. very annoying, if you decide to stay there you definitely have to resign from wearing high-heeled shoes forever :P

Tunja - on the way to Villa de Leyva.

Tunja is said to be the ugliest city in Colombia.. I haven't seen a lot, but I guess I've already seen some much more ugly places :)

La Candelaria.. this is where it started, the whole Bogota thing. The oldest part of the city with some nice colonial houses and quite fun museums :P... well at least some of them were fun.

Here you can ofcourse also find the Simon Bolivar's (the Libertador) square.. every colombian city has it, I honestly start to think it's obligatory, written in the constitution or sth :P
